Ciudad Perdida “Lost City”
Patrimony of the humanity
The Archaeological Park of Lost City (Teyuna) is located in the department of Magdalena, in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, on one of the margins of the Buritaca river and in a humid and template climate (1100 mts above the sea level, approximately). The park is located on an archaeological area called “Lost City”.
The archaeological research has led to reconstruct important aspects of the pre-Hispanic culture and a part of the territory is kept opened to the public. We can find in the Park reconstructed ruins of the prehistoric towns that are an example of the sophisticated architecture and stone engineering that includes terraces, retaining walls, paths, bridges, stairs and channels.
